The fundraising walk is a unique experience created by and for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Minute Man Arc serves more than 800 children and adults with learning challenges living in Concord, Carlisle, Acton, Bedford, Boxborough, Lincoln, Littleton, Maynard and Stow.“I am walking with Minute Man Arc to help raise awareness and funds for people with disabilities,” said Maureen Mara, a board member since 2015. “The march is a public statement of our strength and determination.”
Hundreds of walkers in signature tie-dyed shirts are expected to loop through Concord center beginning at 10 a.m. All abilities are welcome, including people with wheelchairs, walkers and strollers. After the walk, participants are invited to enjoy music by DJ Vinnie the Hitman while eating lunch provided by Juliana’s Catering and locally made ice cream by Reasons To Be Cheerful. There will also be games, activities, face-painting, a bounce house and more at Emerson Field.
Proceeds will benefit Minute Man Arc individuals in need of therapeutic services, early intervention, housing, recreation and jobs. For information: minutemanarc.org, 978-287-7932.
